Kindly share with me what kind of business you would like to start? Are you starting with your own money or just family money? Tell me what you have done as a process to start that business, have you done any survey to know-how is the market like? Have you ever done that business before or not? Is there any person you are looking at as you think about that business? Is your business common?

I am not sure having the WOSB or MBE certifications will help you raise money. These programs exist to help small businesses obtain contacts with government agencies in the United States. You still have to compete with hundreds of other Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) and the government may not have any real opportunities for using fitness centers. Make sure you understand the purpose of these programs before spending a lot of time on something that does not align to your business model. I would get some advice from your local PTAC > https://dcba.lacounty.gov/ptac/

Additionally, trying to raise money for a fitness center from outside investors will be very difficult. All you have to do is watch Shark Tank – investors are looking for something that has real market traction and is ready to grow rapidly given some outside funding. Opening a fitness center in Los Angeles simply does not fit with an outside investment. Your best hope for an outside investment may come from potential customers who are looking for a fitness / recreation center for the family, but nothing exists in the greater LA area. Communicating your concept and vision to potential customers who are willing to become investors may be your best hope.
