Hi Atufe. It would help if you specify here the nature of your business: shop (repair/maintenance), dealership, a mix of both, rentals, etc. In any case, generally speaking, you have to develop a marketing plan. I assume you have already a BUSINESS Marketing Plan. Well, inside of that you have to include the marketing plan, which should contain a marketing strategy, promotion ideas based on the customers profile, location, types of cars offered, competition, etc. Please read this link as introduction: https://www.mayple.com/blog/digital-marketing-plan-template , and then follows the instructions. Good luck!

Thanks Miguel. Hello Atufe. Let me add a few lines to Miguel’s (nothing too complex). I know a little about your business area and the region where you operate so I would say that answer to your question is customer management. Mechanics have a reputation for being uninterested in customer service (whether current or former client). This affects how many return customers you will be able to guarantee. It might appear to be a slow process but every unhappy customer you let go angry will shut down a stream of others. So things like knowing and reaching out to past clients on their birthdays may be more powerful than you think. If you can build a plan to engage all your clients at some level even after they have done business with you (without distressing them with calls every week) and they value those engagements then you might be able to build on that with other more complex strategies. So sit and plan how you can organize your address book of clients into groups (similar status, locations, etc) that will be meaningful for your reaching out to them effectively. Try not to bother them, it must be natural and be received as genuine. Soon enough they will be your advocates and biggest sales team. All the best.

I'm assuming you are talking about an automobile repair company? Here are some suggestions...

  1. Build a Professional Website: This is your company's online front. Make sure it looks professional, is easy to navigate, and provides information about your services, prices, and contact information. It could also include a blog where you post articles related to auto repair, maintenance tips, etc. It doesn't need to be complicated or expensive though.

  2. Utilize Social Media: Create accounts for your business on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Regularly post engaging content, updates about your services, promotions, or special offers. This will help you stay connected with your customers and reach new ones. I suggest posting videos of the work you do.

  3. Google My Business: Register your business on Google My Business. It helps your business appear in local search results, increasing your visibility. Customers can also leave reviews here, which can boost your reputation.

  4. Customer Reviews: Encourage your customers to leave reviews on Google, Yelp, or any other popular review sites. Positive reviews can attract more customers.

  5. Referral Program: Implement a referral program where your existing customers get a discount or a free service for referring a new customer. This not only encourages your current customers to spread the word but also helps in attracting new customers.

  6. Participate in Local Events: Be part of local events, car shows, or community events. This increases your visibility and creates opportunities to interact with potential customers.

  7. Direct Mail and Email Campaigns: Send out flyers, coupons, or newsletters to your existing and potential customers. In your emails, provide useful content, such as car maintenance tips, alongside promotional material. This generally costs between $0.50 - $1.00 per post card that you send.

  8. Partnerships: Partner with local businesses or dealerships. They can refer customers to your shop for repairs and maintenance.

  9. SEO: Optimize your website for search engines (SEO) to make it easier for people to find your business when they search for automobile repairs in your area.

  10. Vehicle Branding: Consider branding your business vehicles with your company logo and contact information. It's a moving advertisement for your company.

Remember, successful promotion is about building relationships with your customers. Provide excellent service, engage with them regularly, and listen to their feedback.
