MicroMentor is Responding to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Impact on Businesses
Have concerns related to your business? Are you a mentor looking to help? Visit our Coronavirus and Small Business Resources page.
Thanks for the question.
I feel, you are just at the beginning of your journey, and at this point there's no reason to think you are missing out. What I would suggest - is to continue investing in your skills, even as you look for business opportunities. There are some great online platforms - like UDEMY, PLURALSIGHT, COURSERA, etc. - which will allow you to hone your skills for the future; I recommend you go through these portals to identify your needs.
Secondly, for any business, it's crucial to understand the opportunity you want to take advantage off. For this, you would require to understand what you want to do with your online platform? It maybe as simple as creating an online support forum, or as complex as setting up a e-commerce business - but at the end of the day, you should be able to accept it from your core.
If you are looking for ideas - I suggest you start by observing your society, trying to understand common problems that plague the people. This would give you an insight into how your surroundings are structured. Your next challenge would be - to devise solutions for these problems preferably through the online platform that you mention.
Also, please ensure that you take into account all the legalities of Kenya as you move forward. It's critically important to have the right counsel when we are starting out on a new path.
Hope that helps. All the best for your future.

I would echo what's already been said. What type of business are you looking to start? What sets you apart from the competition? What passion/knowledge do you bring to the business?
