Is there a special group of Angel Investors that focus on giving to disabled business owners?

Angel investor, as a term, is somewhat of a misnomer, in that many get the idea that the "Angel" implies charitable donations.  Angel investors are actually for-profit, high end business invetors who are looking to gain by investing in promising enterprises.

If your oraganization is planning a service for the disabled or involves a disabled ownership intererst, the best way to approach obtaining funding is to look into grants and related governent contracting programs with a view toward forming a non-profit organization for grants or a for-profit company to obtain government contracts.

If you check with your local Small Business Association (SBA)  there are other funding sources that you can access through the Federal Government via Governmental Contracts.  Do you have a business set up already?  You need to have a business set up already.  What are you trying to start up?

Thanks for the suggestions Kenneth and Larry.

Unfortunately, at this point, I am not at liberty to say what the business is. I definitely cannot see how it would be used as a government contract. I am in touch with the SBA in the state of Washington. I will ask my business counselor for suggestions.

Thanks again for the response.
