How do you start a Workgroup?
I am attending the Nebraska Certified Public Manager's Program and I have to complete a project that focuses on the creation of Plan C as an organization. They specifially would like me to focus on the processes needed to found my organization. A sort of "How-to Manual" in creating and founding an at-risk youth nonprofit organization.
The manual is divided into three areas: First, the current model of existing care; second, the visioning process for Plan C, and third, the plan C Strategic Planning Process.
Each step should be broken down from the previous step. For example, when looking at the existing care, Plan C’s plan should show the consensus of what is wrong with the current system and how plan C can improve the existing system of care. From that comes the visioning process and from that the plan C strategic planning process. Finally, the presentation should end with the next steps (what we will be doing past the time of the project).
My question is this: What steps do I take in setting up a workgroup to help me meet these objectives? Who do I look to? Who do I involve so that they become invested and want to participate? I'm really struggling with what exactly is the "processes" need to accomplish this. Any thoughts?
