Here in the United States, most employers will start by having a detail job description of the position you are trying to fill. This serves as a basis for the hiring decision. Job descriptions typically include the title of the position, key responsibilities, tasks, and expectations of what must be delivered. It is also important to emphasize the types of skills and abilities that are necessary to be successful with the job. For example, maybe the position requires certain types of experience and / or qualifications such as the ability to operate machinery at least 6 hours each day. Maybe the person needs to be fluent in English. You need to list out all of the important skills that are needed. Otherwise, you will get people applying for the job and they are not qualified.

Once you have a good job description, then you have to recruit the right person. Where do people go to look for work in Zimbabwe? Do they look online? Are there places where you can post job openings in certain cities such as Chinhoyi? You have to actively seek out the right person who is looking for work and likewise, make it easy for them to contact you for an interview.

Once you have some candidates for the job, you need to interview and screen the applicants and get down to a short list of final candidates. You want to weed out those people who are not qualified. This is sometimes done through a phone interview. Once you have a final list of qualified candidates, then a face-to-face personal interview usually takes place. This is where you get to meet and know the person. It usually helps if you introduce yourself, tell them about your business and what your plans are for the future. Keep in mind that you are also selling this job to the applicant – they may have some apprehensions or concerns about the job.

Finally, there are plenty of online resources on what types of questions to ask in a job interview. Just do a search on Google. You can also find helpful resources on what to do once you hire the person. This includes onboarding the person and making sure you comply with labor laws in your country. For example, it is your responsibility to make sure the employee has a safe working condition to prevent accidents. Once again, you can easily Google what the labor laws are for your country. Good luck.

Depending on the work you would want you employee to accomplish, you need to set the objectives you want your employee to fulfill. You determine if the objectives can be fulfilled by someone with a college degree, industrial training, unskilled worker or someone who might not have any qualification but possesses the skills that would match your objectives.
