How I can help

My professional background

I've run youth-mentoring programs in the nonprofit sector for the past 15 years. My programs have been mostly volunteer run, so I have extensive experience screening, training and coaching adults on how to work with youth and families. I also spun off my program into an independent organization, tripled revenue, went from 1 to 5 staff, and shift program model to better serve our kids, families and volunteers. I'm also the mother of two small kids and understand the stressors of trying to balance meaningful work outside the home, with the responsibilities of a mom! I'm looking forward to learning about an entrepreneurs challenges in these areas and hope I can offer valuable support by sharing my experience!

How to work with me

What I can offer

I can offer my experience with strategic planning - especially with nonprofit boards, fundraising, grant writing, staff and volunteer management - especially on a small team. Partnership development, building your brand locally via relationships. Most importantly, I can offer an authentic, listening ear and encouragement that running your own business is hard, but worth it!

My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship

I hope to have at least 2 meaningful conversation to learn about their business and their challenges, share about my experience, then have them tell me what would be most useful to discuss. I expect the entrepreneur to be interested in learning, and growing, and is willing to take the new steps to reach their goals. I am here to ask helpful questions and offer ideas and validation, but I want them to know the power to fix their problems lies with them!

How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start

Have a few questions to help you learn whether my experience is relevant to your needs. Have one goal for our first conversation.
