I feel like I'm missing out on real knowledge of the copywriting world. I understand the conceptual ideas from books I've read and things I can get online, but I'm scared to actually deal with clients since I'm lacking in experience. I'm looking for somebody who has experience within the copywriting industry so that I can directly ask questions, get advice, and create real, attainable goals to start working towards. I have the work ethic but I'm lacking direction.

I've read multiple books and taken extensive notes on them, I've written down word-for-word some of the top copywriting advertisements, I've created my own 'swipe file' and use it to get ideas, I wrote a homepage website for my parents and an about us page for a friend I've met through a writing group, I'm currently doing a marketing internship and recently I've started applying to more internships and freelance work.

My future goal is to be able to do copywriting work remote full-time and continue to learn more so that I can be a very talented copywriter.

I think having a copywriting mentor would make a drastic shift in my improvement. Up until now I have been doing it completely alone, and I think that has made me waver a lot in pushing forward. If I could have somebody who knows about the industry and pushes me in the right direction I have a lot of confidence that I could be successful.

I've graduated college with a major in International Business and decided to switch my career path to become a copywriter. I've spent the past eight months studying, getting certificates, and doing internships, and I'm looking to take the next step and start applying for freelance jobs to get some more experience.
