What I need help with
My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
Since I don't have any experience with starting a business, nor do I have any experienced counsel with whom I can communicate for advice, I'm not sure which steps I should take next. My biggest fear is that I invest years of time researching this idea, only to learn in retrospect that I placed the wrong industry emphasis/that I entered the market too late/that I don't have enough capital to start my business within a reasonable period of time, etc. My goal, specifically, is to establish a soup-to-nuts mentor relationship with an experienced entrepreneur or staffing/recruiting agency owner. I bring four years of college recruiting experience to this venture and have been working as a fully licensed Investment Advisor Representative for the past year. Any personal guidance or general advice throughout this process would be greatly appreciated.
About my venture
I am interested in owning and operating my own permanent staffing/recruiting agency within 1-3 years for college graduates looking to enter the finance industry. As a college graduate, I remember having an interest in starting a career in finance, but not being sure of what my opportunities were - much less, how to take advantage of them. I want to be the solution provider for the herds of college graduates who have demonstrated their capacity to excel in the workplace, but simply don't have the guidance and leadership to identify optimal employment opportunities and maximize their potential as career professionals.
