Challenges and Opportunities: We face challenges such as limited financial resources, a need for a sustainable business model, staffing constraints, and difficulties in scaling up operations. However, we are actively addressing these challenges and seek partnerships to amplify our impact.

Initiatives: YAREN launched 11 initiatives in 2018-2023, impacting over 13,309 people with a total value of USD 31,722. Our initiatives focus on education, preventing SGBV, health training, water hygiene and sanitation, livelihood and women empowerment, and humanitarian aid.

My future goals

Goal:

A Fully transformed refugee, internal displaced and host community with highly eradicated levels of Poverty, unemployment thus development- minded and innovative for subsequent impact in Africa.

My motivation to work with mentors is because: 1. I still need to learn more from professional 2. I want to grow my network 3. Getting guidance on how to link up my organization to success to make my dreams a reality 4. Learning how to change my life and community, especially my fellow refugees. About my venture

YAREN Organisation Started 2017

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Muganuzi Mushongole Adonis, and I am writing to introduce you to YAREN, a non-profit organization operating in Uganda, dedicated to providing support to refugees and individuals in need. Established in 2017, YAREN has successfully navigated its start-up phase, surmounted the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and is now poised for a significant reorganization.

YAREN operates in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Central Wakiso District Ndejje Division Ndejje Ward Bongole Kampala, and Eastern Region Bugiri District Muwayo Town Council. Our mission is to train, promote, and empower high-risk communities, fostering self-resilience and sustainable livelihoods. We are reaching out to establish partnerships with organizations and individuals who share our commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Background and History: YAREN Organization was founded in 2017 as the Young African Refugees Entrepreneurs Network by Muganuzi Mushongole Adonis, a young refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a vision to transform the lives of those facing difficult situations. Over the years, YAREN has achieved significant milestones, including formal registration in 2019 by the local Government of the Isingiro District and national recognition in 2023 as YAREN Organisation LTD.

Our interventions cover various sectors, including Education, Health, Hygiene and Sanitation, Livelihood and Women Empowerment, and Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Response. YAREN is committed to transparency, financial efficiency, impact, effectiveness, governance, and accountability.

Mission and Vision: Mission: Train, promote, and empower high-risk communities with skills for self-resilience. Stimulate entrepreneurship and improve sustainable community practices. Vision: Create a better society for high-risk communities by tackling poverty, and unemployment, and increasing local capacities.
